Director, Skills Development Programme

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall strategic and operational goals and expansion of BRAC’s Skills Development Programme and various projects under the programme 
  • Ensure fund mobilisation for BRAC’s Skills Development Programme, 
  • Formulate a well-defined Skills Development Strategy which is sustainable 
  • Develop the team's capacity for large scale expansion, diversification and management 
  • Ensure strong research and evaluation of initiatives taken within this programme to generate evidence of impact on a regular basis 
  • Create a strong advocacy platform to highlight the need for skills development in Bangladesh and the role currently played by BRAC in this sector 
  • Oversee business development strategy, marketing and financial plan for the programme 
  • Build strong partnership with government and private sector entities to ensure the services are demand driven and can leverage government’s own focus on skill building 
  • Ensure linkage among key stakeholders i.e. government, private sector, civil society organisations, donors and other funding agencies, media, academic institutions. Work with various other BRAC programmes in identifying synergy and develop joint interventions and pilots. 
  • Represent BRAC in various skills related forum nationally and internationally and do advocacy around the large skill agenda.

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters from any recognised University/ Institution with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations. No 3rd division/ class or below CGPA is acceptable

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in development field including minimum 4-5 years at the strategic level. Candidate with additional private sector experience and sufficient experience in the skills sector (TVET) will be preferred

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Excellent Leadership skills with necessary analytical, organisational and project management, problem solving, people management and interpersonal skills 
  • Proven Knowledge on business proposals, forecasting, planning, IT literate, budgeting, development and enhancement of management information systems, Industry Linkage 
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla
